1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they’re serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It’s rare.. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It’s not as if you’re going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It’s a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It’s later than you think. It’s Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That’s the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they’re made with skim milk or whole milk. If it’s skim, pass. Why bother? It’s like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people’s food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year’s. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you’ll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don’t budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They’ re like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you’re never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple,Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don’t like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it’s loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don’t feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven’t been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!
love to all
have fun

ok, first and foremost…
thanks to everyone at fm100….im not going to name names because ill forget some people probably and I really dont like hate emails around Christmas..so ill just say..THANK YOU to everyone involved.
We raised 571,382.96.
Yup..you are reading that number correctly…I know..its amazing..so thank you to everyone involved…everyone who volunteered..everyone who donated..we have the best listeners in the whole world.

Next,
I havnt even STARTED my christmas shopping yet. Is that bad?
I PROMISE..im going to start next week. Im usually the kind of person that has everythig done by thanksgiving all wrapped and under the tree.
so, for me to be THIS behind is not typical.
I already know everything im getting everyone..its just a matter of ACTUALLY going out and getting it.

The house is decorated..has been for a few weeks..but since we’re trying to sell the house…we have to have minimal decorations …..
Usually we have a 6 foot tree…this year..its 3 feet..hAHHAHA its so puny…its like the charlie brown christmas tree….its sad..but oh so cute…
Im used to having 2 dogs and 2 cats at the house…
My cats are temporarily housed at my parents while we are trying to sell the house…and buster ( my big pup) died about 5 months ago.
So, this is our first Christmas without B and the kitties…
So VINO is all by his lonesome….and hes a VERY well behaved dog..so he doesnt chew tinsel or eat ornaments like buster did…doesnt take the fake berries out of the tree and play with them..like the cats do…and he doesnt paw at the edge of packages til the wrapping is off so he can chew on the corner of the box. All these crazy things are what make my Christmas..MY christmas…my house has always been a very loving, homey place..and I love it that way…we’ll miss ya this year Buster. :) we found his stocking when we were unpacking all the decorations…its cute..its just like Vinos…but instead of saying VINO..it has a big ole B on it…thats what I called him “B”. It’s small and red..and super cute.
So this year on the fireplace…we have P’s stocking..Mine..and Vinos…
This is a normal Christmas for me..HHHAHAH…vino is well behaved..hes so nice and sweet..he lets us put antlers on his head..and take pictures…I think it someone humiliates him, but deep down..I know he loves the attention.
I get to see my brother and sister in law in a few days..im so excited..
I love the holidays…but i have to work out extra hard..because I eat and drink my way to January.
And once I hit january..ill have 12 weeks til the wedding..so i cant chance it….that treadmill and me have become BFF the past few weeks..hahah
So MERRY MERRY everyone..
I have to go work….and probably need to shop…we’ll see if i can squeeze it in this week or not..im betting not..but Christmas miracles do happen.
Love to all!!!!
